These two films were created as part of the Willamette Falls Heritage Foundation‘s artists’ invitations to roam the grounds of the Hawley Powerhouse at Willamette Falls and the Bull Run Powerhouse to record their impressions. Harry Dawson and I filmed the first one at Willamette Falls. I filmed the second at the Bull Run Powerhouse. Both films are visible essays moving from light to dark and back again. Intrusive text and sound is intended to incite the viewer to look at the place in a fresh light and not just get caught up in the nice photography. The text came from headlines and ads found in The Oregonian.
