Non-fiction film is art with a purpose. Lawrence Johnson Productions has been creating documentaries on subjects as wide ranging as salmon trolling and the Theatre of the Oppressed. Collaborating with organizations such as Wisdom of the Elders, Inc., Oregon Sea Grant and Native American Public Telecommunications, we have produced dozens of non-fiction films since the 1980s. Currently we are at work on developing a film about the Walla Walla Chief Peo Peo Mox Mox and the continuities of Native traditions in the Plateau, and a personal documentary about the filmmaker’s experience in Vietnam.
